Regal nostalgia anyone?
Prince William & Kate, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge |
This last April the world watched as Kate and Will "tied the knot"at the Westminster Abbey, with a display of wealth and power. The wedding involved a substantial amount of planning but was truly impressive. Take a look at the cake, the dress, and even the carriage!
The Joseph Lambeth technique was used to make the cake by Fiona Cairns. |
The cake, decorated with cream and white icing, having a British floral theme is a multi-tiered traditional fruit cake.
A Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding dress, quite exquisite yes? |
The materials
used to make the dress are, white satin-gazar(organza made stiff) and ivory. Pleats and arches
were used for the shape of the skirt. The bodice itself was padded at the hips
and slimmed at the waist much like a corset. As for the back of the dress, 58 buttons covered with gazar and organza are
fastened by Rouleau loops, and you cant forget the 2.7 meter long train.
A photo of the nearly 9ft' train. |
The 1902 State Landau Carriage, how much more "storybook" can you get? |
